Prepare for a continuous sequence
- Keep this tab visible and watch every letter
- Press only when the current letter matches the letter N positions earlier
- Use Space or the on-screen Match button
This short browser N-back is a research proxy, not a diagnostic working-memory test. Data will be recorded for academic research.

Example
For 2-back, compare with two letters ago
BFBQ
Press Match for the second B because it is the same as the letter two positions earlier. Do not respond when there is no match.
